Gynecomastia Surgery at Esthetik
Gynecomastia surgery is an operation performed to improve the shape of the male chest, removing glands, fat and excess skin. Esthetik always uses liposuction to enhance these results. This operation is performed under general anaesthesia and patients can normally leave the hospital on the same day, however, there are occasions in which an overnight stay may be required.
On average, it takes around four weeks for patients to return to work, but this can be sooner depending on their job. A pressure garment needs to be worn for about six weeks, and in most cases, the stitches that are used in this surgery will be dissolvable to ease recovery.
There is no standard operation for Gynecomastia, as these procedures are tailor-made to personal requirements and requests. As a treatment which is generally well-tolerated, patients tend to be extremely happy with their results.
An ideal patient is someone who is fit and well, has a body mass index (BMI) of under 32 and is in possession of excess glands, skin and fat around the breast area. This operation is not advisable for smokers or recreational drug users.
